Dr Nikki Twomey

Dr Nikki Twomey is an experienced GP and has been working on the northside of Brisbane for the past 20 years. She has a special interest in all areas of infant, child and adolescent health and welcomes new patients and their families. Nikki also enjoys women’s health  and travel medicine.  She is pleased to now be consulting with Neighbourhood Medical Bardon. 

Nikki graduated in Medicine in 1993 at the University of Queensland. She spent several years in Paediatric Speciality Training at the Mater Children’s Hospital before entering general practice and gaining her FRACGP in 2000. 

Nikki has continued her interest in infant and child health and is undertaking further training with the Sydney Child Health Programme. She is the GP Representative for the Stormy Start Project with the Queensland Children’s Hospital which aims to improve support for infants at increased risk of developmental difficulties in general practice. She is interested in the primary care of adolescents and young people and attends the Generation Next Education Programme for Young People. Nikki also enjoys all areas of Women’s Health including sexual health, contraception and antenatal care.  She is able to provide shared antenatal care with both the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mater Hospital.

A keen traveller, Nikki has completed the Monash University Travel Medicine Master Class and can help with travel medicine needs.

When not working, Nikki is kept busy with her family of 3 daughters. She likes to unwind with yoga and bushwalking on weekends and enjoys cooking.

  • Child and Adolescent Care – all areas of primary care including co-ordination of chronic care, school based, developmental and mental health issues

  • Young People Care – all areas including mental health and sexual health concerns

  • Women’s Health 

  • Travel Medicine

Dr Nikki Twomey consults at Neighbourhood Medical Monday to Thursdays and some Saturdays.
