Dr Jo Hallinan graduated medicine from the University of Queensland in 2003. She prides herself on her thorough and investigative approach and clear communication style. Jo enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is experienced in all facets of General Practice.

Dr Hallinan studied medicine at the University of Queensland graduating in 2003 and attained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011. She prides herself on taking a thorough and investigative approach to difficult medical problems.  Jo believes that clear and direct communication is essential in getting the best outcomes for patients.

Special interests

  • Women’s health including : 

    • Prenatal (before pregnancy) and antenatal (during pregnancy) care 

    • Pelvic pain, period pain and heavy periods

    • Shared antenatal care with RBWH

    • Contraception (insertion and removal of Implanon and removal of IUDs)

  • Child and adolescent health

  • Mental Health – mood disorders (such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder)

  • Sexual health including STD screening and treatment

  • LGBTQ+ friendly

Jo lives with her husband of nearly 25 years and their two teenage children. She has a geriatric whippet and a crazy greyhound.  Jo enjoys cooking and eating out, bushwalking and generally hanging out with her family.

Dr Jo Hallinan is available on Wednesday afternoon and evening, Friday morning and some Saturdays.
