Medical Receptionist

About Us

Neighbourhood Medical is a private billing, GP owned general practice in Toowong, specialising in women’s and children’s health alongside comprehensive general practice care.

We are known for our warm, patient centred approach, thoughtful communication and slow medicine philosophy.

About the Role

This is a varied and fast paced medical reception role, with a strong focus on delivering a seamless and professional patient experience. Day to day, you will manage patient enquiries, incoming calls, correspondence, appointment bookings and scheduling, while maintaining accurate records and supporting Medicare compliance. You will work closely with reception colleagues and the wider clinical team to keep the practice running smoothly, respond confidently to changing priorities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives across the practice.

The role will begin with a strong focus on reception and patient service, with genuine opportunities to develop broader responsibilities as the practice continues to grow over the next 6 months.

What We Offer

You will be supported by well developed systems designed to make day to day operations clear, consistent and efficient. This includes carefully selected external software, strong internal processes and practice policies that are communicated consistently across the team.

Our workplace is respectful, professional and collaborative, with approachable GPs and a genuine commitment to staff development. Quarterly whole practice meetings keep everyone informed, provide professional development and create space for shared learning. We also take time to recognise staff achievements and bring the team together through our annual Christmas celebration and July family event.

You are an experienced medical receptionist who takes pride in providing a high standard of patient service.

You are calm, organised and confident managing competing priorities. You communicate clearly, use initiative and enjoy contributing to a capable and supportive team.
